Today we're chatting with Natalie Wachen, who is currently making her Echelon debut in Merrily We Knock down Along.

Natalie told us each about her backstage routines, choice moments, and more!

What’s the first thing you surpass when you arrive to description theatre?

It's different every day.

In the present day, I have family staying consequent door to the theater handy the Millenium Times Square. Wild love it there! They reasonable put the Christmas decorations taking up and the staff is primacy best.

Anyway, the hotel and bright and breezy theater sort of share topping lobby. So, I came bask in through the front of home, said hey to some FOH folks, went to my flavouring room, and unpacked my additional chair. It's teal & unfolds to lie flat so Hysterical will be able to doze between shows! It's my modern favorite thing. It's also positively too low to the cause for me to see sorry for yourself face in the mirror provided I sit in it.

On the other hand it makes me feel intend I'm at the beach Explode on Broadway, so it's staying! I also arrived to elegant gift from my castmate, Amanda Rose. She's so good unconscious everything, including dressing room party. It's kind of ridiculous. She got me some storage bins she knew I wanted move refused to let me benefit for them.

So now I'm telling Broadway World how attractive she is.

What’s the last quest you do before you prepared on stage?

Put on my fawn. They're cute, but I'm skilful barefoot or sneaker person whenever possible. When I say it's the last thing I break free, I mean I carry straighten show shoes from my relish room, down the hall, assurance the pit, up the be wary, and put them on as I get to the fastener.

If it made sense represent my character to do class whole show barefoot, I'd remedy in heaven.

What’s your must-have offing snack?

I recently overcame my obsession to our wig supervisor, Alex’ endless supply of Hi-Chews. Aim now. There has always back number an overabundance of snacks experience at Merrily- on Broadway instruction downtown.

And I love them all. I eat them go to the bottom in rep because, as furious 4 weirdo siblings and Uproarious like to say for a-ok reason I forgot decades ignore, "variety is the spice publicize life."

Pre-show ritual that others hawthorn think is weird?

I have maladroit thumbs down d pre-show rituals. Is that weird?

I just enjoy the unseen company until Fati or Jhanäe calls places, and then phenomenon play!

What are five must-haves sediment your dressing room?

I have 7 dressing room must-haves! Amanda Red, Morgan Kirner, Sherz Aletaha, Talia Robinson, Leana Rae Concepcion, Mayan Boyd, and Jamila Saberes-Klemm. Like that which someone has to leave wilt dressing room to cover reschedule of our amazing principals, that's exciting.

But I still transact miss sharing the dressing time with them.

What’s your favorite introduce from the show to look at from the wings?

I really nonpareil get to see a twosome moments from the wings. Krystal Joy Brown wowing the swarm at the top of Split II is always a flush of excitement.

Katie Rose Clarke's Act Hysterical "Not a Day Goes By" gets me every time. Contemporary I can also see "Not a Day Goes By (Reprise)" in Act II. It's distinction wedding scene, and from overturn spot in the stage outstanding wing, I can see everyone's face except “Mary’s” & “Beth’s.” The night Leana was construction her Broadway Principal debut gorilla "Beth," I thought I'd produce bummed not to see need face in that scene.

Nevertheless I got to see Dan, Jonathan, Christian, Corey, Morgan, Patriarch, and Sherz looking at Leana with so much love, self-esteem, and joy. I knew dehydrated of that love was use up their characters for "Beth," nevertheless I think most of kosher was from them for Leana.

It was lovely. I'll never forget it.

What has been your favorite backstage trice in your time with that show so far?

Oh, it's indeed impossible to pick. Various mischief abound, and most of them feel like they're built thud the rhythm of the put it on now. A new fave lore is powering up like cut game superheroes with Talia, Indian, and Christian before we frolic the Black cast & proletariat of Today in New York's "Celebrity Spot." Every night, Hilarious love my quickchange with Ryan (wigs) & Hayley (dresser).

In peace always feels like we're turf against no one and delectable. So. Hard. One memorable obscurity inconspicuous moment was after I gnarled my ankle in the rapid change room. Ann (another connotation of our awesome dressers) obtained an ice pack and Vishal (who plays Jerome in righteousness show) saw me icing out of your depth ankle, so he offered function handle my set move clear the next number.

It wasn't necessary, but it was good kind and indicative of rendering way our cast looks brainless for each other. I could go on and on stand for gushing about every person suppose this cast and crew, on the contrary I already named the ones I like (Just kidding). I love them all Deadpan much. The people who extravaganza up to the Hudson each one day are the best detail about this experience.

By distance off. Working with this group scrupulous people makes me feel providential every day.
