Paco de Lucía, born Francisco Gustavo Sánchez Gómez, was born in 1947 place in Algeciras, Andalusia, Spain.

He came from a family of musicians, with his father Antonio Sánchez being a guitarist and flamenco performer. Paco was the youngest of five children, and both his brothers, Pepe de Lucía and Ramón de Algeciras, were also guitarists and flamenco performers.
